Sugatsune’s metal-detectable grommet is mainly made of silicone rubber. Silicone rubber is an FDA-approved food gasket material. That means it is safe for usage in your machines and processes.
Besides, silicone has a wide temperature tolerance and can withstand high temperatures. Due to the metal blended inside our food-sanitation-compliant grommets, the ideal operating temperature range is slightly reduced to between 14 and 230 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 -to 110 degrees Celcius). This extreme steam resistance gives our rubber cable grommet its superior sterilization attributes, which meet FDA standards.
It can hold up against ethylene oxide, gamma radiation, steam autoclaving, electron beams, and dry heat without altering its properties.
Resistant to Organic Chemicals
Food processing uses organic acids such as lactate and lactic acid, citric acid, sorbate, methyl, and acetic acids as preservatives. In that case, the bright blue color allows you to easily spot the material, remove it from the food, and check whether you need to replace your food-sanitation-compliant grommet. If the microparticles escape your eye, the food metal detectors will detect the infused metal powder, preventing accidental food contamination.
